Hummingbird feeder heater to prevent nectar from freezing.
Hummingbirds are such amazing little creatures and need food early in the morning when they wake from their torpor. (Topor is kind of like hibernation.) This heater will ensure that the humming birds have food available when temperatures drop to below freezing.
The heater is 3D printed using high quality materials and will last many years. The body is made of high strength PETG plastic and the ring is made of resilient Polyurethane.
The heater uses a 7W light bulb to keep the nectar from freezing and is held on the feeder with hooks and elastic cord. To install the heater put the hooks on the loops the birds sit on to feed and adjust the elastic cord using the adjustable cord clamp.
The heater is easily disassembled for cleaning. The light bulb with cord is quickly removed by squeezing the clip on the bottom and gently pulling. Once the light and cord are removed, it can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand. If washing in the dishwasher please ensure it is placed in the top rack and away from the heater elements.
