Custom Made Handcrafted Wooden Hanging Swing Style Bird Feeder or

This is a custom fabricated swing type bird feeder.  You will notice that the wood is not only sanded, but slightly rounded at the corners.  The screws are counter sunk to so they are flush with the wood. (Except for the ones in front which are used for anchoring the support cables) The back is cut so it tilts back at at 15 degree angle, much like full sized swings.  The frame is screwed together with galvanized screws and also glued using exterior glue. The slats are glued in addition to being nailed or stapled.  The cable used to support this feeder is 1/16" stainless steel air craft cable which will never rust.  The decorative hook is custom made utilizing .050" galvanized wire.  The hook was then painted black to protect the cut edges from rusting.  The screen on the bottom of the feeder is fiberglass screening which will never rust.  Many years ago I made a full sized lawn swing that hangs on our swing set.  Two years ago my wanted a bird feeder so I made a swing feeder that looked the full size lawn swing.  She really loves it and thought that others may want one of their own.  Now it seems that making bird feeders is new a retirement project.
